Cookie, 4 year old female Shepherd mix  Adopted
Cookie is a sweet Shepherd mix female. Black and tan, at first we thought she was 5 or 6, but we traced her down to an owner who had her from a pup and she is 4. Vet confirmed she's probably just been on a bad diet so we're going to have her teeth cleaned. She was raised with kids and she ignores other dogs. She ignores cats. She is playful and loves to throw her stuffed toys around or just lie by your feet and chew a bone. Would be great for an inactive household as long as they walk her.

She loves women, is great with kids, but is afraid of some men. She is housebroken and calm in the house, and very small in stature, about knee height. She's a nice size.

She was been transferred to the Dakin Animal shelter and has been adopted.

Gwen, 1 yr old female Husky

This gorgeous dog is Gwen and her picture doesn't do her justice.. She is a purebred Husky and is about 1 yr old (as of 6/1). She has a beautiful red and white coat, which goes great with her blue eyes. Once you catch a glimpse of those big, blues, you fall in love! Gwen came to the Paris, KY shelter as a stray, but was obviously socialized. She is very good with people and is well-behaved. She is easy to walk and actually likes her crate. She goes in it willingly and often. She is fine with other dogs. If you are looking for a beautiful dog with a nice personality, she is the dog for you. Apply here Adopted!

Bear, 2 year Male Terrier mix

Bear is a 2 yr old Terrier mix who is just too cute! He looks like an overgrown Benji dog. He was brought to the shelter in KY because his people were not taking care of him and neighbors got tired of him wandering the streets. Bear is in foster care and his foster Mom has great things to say about him. Bear is already housetrained and knows some basic obedience too. He will wave to you for a treat! He is very friendly with people (including children) and dogs. He is very affectionate and loves to cuddle and be petted. He is calm and laid-back--likes to lay around the house. He is pretty quiet, and rarely barks. He hasn't chewed anything in the house at all, in fact he doesn't even chew rawhides that much. He is doing well on the leash. He does not like to be crated and there's hardly a crate that will hold him, so this is one dog about whom we say, no crate.

Bear is gorgeous, but large. He's at least 55 lbs and very strong. He's gentle, though, and a really cool dog. Shirley brought him to a family reunion and everyone LOVED him. He sat there and waved his paw at everyone. This dog is very unique.

Dooley, young Border Collie mix

Dooley! He is a Border Collie/Australian Shepherd mix. He is about 6 months old (as of 6/1) and is very handsome, with a great looking coat. Dooley is a friendly dog to both humans and other dogs. He is a sweet dog, housebroken too. He is also very intelligent and will make a great obedience or agility dog. He would also be a good companion for outdoor exercise. If you are looking for that active, smart dog who is affectionate too, then Dooley is the one for you.  Apply here

Pru, young Female Golden Retriever/Collie mix

This darling dog is Pru. She came to the Paris, KY shelter as a stray with several puppies. Her puppies (Captain Morgan and Kailin) have been weaned, so Pru is ready for a home of her own. She is a Border Collie/Labrador Retriever mix who is about 1 1/2 yrs old. You won't find a dog with a better disposition anywhere. She just loves every one and is so happy with attention. She is sweet, gentle and submissive. She so wants to please and give love. She is just a happy dog who just wants to love you. With her nature, she will be very good with kids. It doesn't seem she ever had any type of obedience training and will certainly benefit from some. She should train very well and easily. Pru does have an injury to one of her hind legs. The Vet looked at it, and we says it is an old injury. We have the x-rays. It doesn't seem to be painful, but will need to be minitoring. Pru is just a sweetheart, and will be one super companion. She is just waiting for the chance. Coming 7/13/03. Apply now if you are interested as she will be snapped up quickly. Adopted

Captain Morgan, 12 week old Yellow lab male puppy

Captain Morgan is the yellow puppy. He's about 12 weeks old now as he was eight weeks on 6/1. .His Mom is Pru, a Border Collie/Lab mix, and Dad is a purebred black Lab. So he is mostly Lab. He is a socialized, active, playful puppy. We are going to want an adopter who can see him through his puppy years and is commited to obedience training (a requirement for puppies) and someone who is prepared for labby adolesence. Labs are an active breed and want to be with you every minute. Adopted along with his sister, Sarah.

They have been raised by very well, and are socialized. They are so cute and will be wonderful companions for any one. Raggedy Andy, Small breed male pup

These two little balls of fur are Raggedy Ann and Andy. We not real sure about their breeds, but believe they are Pomeranian mixed with Spitz or maybe some type of Terrier. They are 9 weeks old (as of 6/1), and should only be around 20 lbs when fully grown. They are truly adorable! They are happy, playful puppies. They are well socialized and really like people. They are curious little puppies and do like to explore. Raggedy Ann was adopted, but Raggedy Andy is available. They will NOT be adopted together, so please do not worry if you just want one. Please come and see Tara and Snoopy. Love at first site is guaranteed! Arrival 7/13 pending vaccination completion. Snoopy got adopted.

Miss Molly, 11 month old female Lab/Shiba Inu mix

Miss Molly is a one year old female lab mix who came in with her pal, Jingles. They don't have to be adopted together, though, as each needs individual attention. Miss Molly is around 40 lbs, if that. She's active and playful, needs training not to jump up. She knows to sit for a treat and is generally well behaved, but will need some training. She's small so very manageable. Not an apartment sized dog, but would be fine for a small house and yard. Miss Molly is a very friendly dog, loves everyone she meets.ADOPTED

Kayla -- beautiful 3 yr old female lab/retriever mix, with a touch of beagle, very nice personality, adorable with children and adults as well. The reason current owners are giving her away is because 3 of the 4 daughters are allergic to dogs and the doctor has indicated that the dog should not stay.Highly intelligent dog, learns easily. Commands she knows: sit, paw, stay, come, down. Never goes on furniture (except a couch that is hers). Asks to go outside (to do her business), barks once or twice to let you know she wants to come in. Aside from that she almost never barks. Likes to play, catches small toys and treats in the air.
