Apply To Adopt

Dandelion is a 2-3 year old female yellow lab who came to us in February and delivered a litter of pups. Her pups have all been adopted and now it's Dandelion's turn for a great home. Dandelion has been living with another female Lab and they have been best buds. She would love another dog or to be with her person during the day. She has rarely been alone so it would be difficult for her to go to a working home. She's very playful and likes rough and tumble so would be too much for an older dog or a smaller dog. She can be shown by private appointment once we receive your application. We're looking for a very special home for this special dog.

Pepper is an older dog who needs a retirement home. He loves his blankets and bed. His foster mom, a retiree, says he is the absolutely most perfect dog. House trained, attentive, and always ready for a walk, but is content with whatever goes on too. He's excellent on leash. He won't eat the dry food, prefers wet with the longevity supplement that we have him on as well as the probiotics and he is eating that with gusto. He doesn't get on the furniture or the bed. He knows how to sit and shake. He will make someone very happy. He's had a rough life so has some missing fur around his neck where the chain was. He's gentle and sweet. We don't know his history with children so an adult home would be best. Once we receive your application we can make a private appointment for you to meet him.

Apply To Adopt

Nyla is a six year old spayed female Husky mix. She has lived in one home since she was a puppy and a change in her adopter's working hours has her spending many hours home alone. She is looking for a new home. She Loves being pampered, from getting pets, to even taking a bath. She'll just sit there and let you wash her, but isn't a fan of the hair dryer. She loves being outside, roaming and sniffing or just laying in the sun! She is very friendly and curious, she hasn't met a dog she hasn't gotten along with. She'll play but is just as happy being around a calm dog. She does take time to warm up to someone but once she does she'll always remember you and be fine around you. Otherwise, patience is key, gotta let her come up to you. She really is a sweetheart, but just know that she kinda does things on her own terms, she may want to cuddle some days, others she may find a secluded spot by herself. I really think she has a huge heart and just wants to be loved. She hates cats, so no cats.

Murphy, 7 years Male Wheaton Terrier
Murphy

Apply To Adopt

Murphy, a Wheaten Terrier will be 7 years old on June 3rd, although his enthusiasm for life makes him seem more like 3! Murphy needs a home which understands Wheatens. A home with a fenced in yard, preferably with another docile, easy going dog, who likes to play. Murphy loves his yard and to play. He also enjoys daily long walks. He is house trained and knows his commands. He is crate trained, (or room trained), but make sure you give him a treat or he will let you know you forgot, with a strong bark. Murphy has territorial issues with people coming up to the car or into his home. He will bark furiously and may even try to nip, however when he has been introduced to people outside he has been non-reactive and has shown none of those behaviors. He is trainable with someone who is consistent and positive. When company comes he is fine being put in a room with a treat and door shut. Then he can be taken out on a leash and introduced. With another dog we find it best meet outside, initially keep both dogs on leash and slowly allow to smell each other or even better, take them both for a walk together. No cats or children. To help successfully transition Murphy into his new, forever home, his foster mom would be very willing to coach his new owners, teach and help problem solve around his special needs. He is a love and will bring great joy to the right home. He can be seen by private appointment after we review your application.

Apply To Adopt

Hi there, My name is Alyza and I'm a 5 year old spayed friendly Pitbull. I'm hoping I can find a loving home. Everyone says I deserve it! I am gentle with babies and toddlers. I lived with five children at one time, from infants to eight years old. My family used to prop the baby on me as a pillow. I lived with another small dog too. If you think you can adopt me, I will be your best friend for life! I'm obsessed with tennis balls, but I also destroy them so sometimes you have to hide them from me. I'm house trained. I sleep in my crate at night and I don't chew anything in your house during the day. I can get excited, but I also know how to "chill". I will destroy an occasional stuffed animal. I weigh around 46 lbs, but am losing weight due to my having to live in a kennel. Please give me a chance. I've always lived in a home and I don't want to spend my days in a kennel. A few months ago I had a minor ACL tear in my right hind leg, but after further evaluation the vet said I just needed chiropractic adjustments. I still have occasional chiro appointments in Framingham, which Save A Dog is willing to sponsor. Won't you please give me a chance?

Available On: Private Appointment

Apply To Adopt

FEMALE HOME ONLY! Adonis is a shy 2 year neutered male Lab mix who tends to bond with one or two people in the home so we're looking for a quiet home for him. He's afraid of men, so an all female house is what he needs. He came to us from St. Thomas, hence he considered as a "Coconut Retriever". He is a handsome lad who needs to find his forever home with the right adopter as he can take some time to get accustomed to new people. He's not a dog for a busy household as he wants his own people and does not warm up quickly to strangers. For his family, he is at ease and loyal and can be a lot of fun. He LOVES the water. Give him a chance to splash around in a lake and he will take it, but be warned you will get wet! He is very polite meeting other dogs of all sizes. He loves the beach and that's his element. He is in his glory when at the beach or lake. He loves the car and will jump in (and out!!). He recently mastered the “sit” command and he will amuse himself with squeaky toys. He will chase a Frisbee, sticks and sometimes a ball and is working on bringing them back. A fenced in yard is necessary to keep him safe and give him access to the outdoors where he shows his zest for life. A dog friend would be great!. We know Adonis well and we welcome the opportunity to guide the special person who adopts him. You won’t be disappointed as he will be your forever friend for life. Adonis is available to meet and will be shown by private appointment. Update: Adonis is heart worm free. Apply at www.saveadog.org
