Apply To Adopt

Mickey is a 3 year old Shepherd/Catahoula mix who came up from Louisiana. He was heart worm negative down south, but subsequent tests showed he was positive so he is being treated. His adopter returned him because he was difficult on leash when meeting other dogs. Back in his dog-experienced foster home, he's not having a problem, just some initial anxiety when meeting other dogs. Mickey is the perfect dog. "he never barked, he never chewed on anything that was not his, he never even touched anything that was not for him, he never went on furniture, he never begged for food. he was always quiet, never woke me up and never interrupted my work. in the yard he had good recall and loved to play simple games. he was chasing the leaves and loved to explore the snow. he was always cheerful and loving. he was always ready to go for a walk." He is a friendly boy who would do best with an adopter who has Shepherd or large breed experience. Mickey weighs around 53 lbs. Apply at http://www.saveadog.org/applytoadopt.asp

Apply To Adopt

Oreo is a beautiful two year old Heeler/Bernese Mt Dog mix who we took in from a local owner moving down south. During her spay it was discovered she has heart worms so we have started her on the traditional treatment and using an integrative protocol. We prefer the holistic treatment and have seen dogs test negative faster than the conventional treatment and it is less toxic. Oreo is an active girl and it would be hard to keep her quiet using the traditional method. She needs an athletic adopter or someone who can spend the time exercising her. Please live local to Sudbury so that we can monitor her. Oreo weighs 64 lbs. prior to her rescue she spent most of her time in an outside pen with her sibling, Jack. She would do best in a fenced in yard and certainly is not a dog for an apartment or condo. She was spayed on 10/25/21 and briefly adopted, but is back. Finn is a one year old Dachshund whose owner had a job change and the hours alone were too long for the little guy. Finn was very lonely spending so much time at home so he is looking for a home with more of a stay at home situation. As he's young he needs an adopter who has the time and energy. He has not been exposed to children or other dogs so we're hoping to place him as an only dog.
