Tulip, DOB: 8/11/20 Female Australian Shepherd / Catahoula / Lab

Tulip and her 11 siblings were born on 8/11/20 and sweet Daisy is their mom. The first thing you will notice is her long dark chestnut coat with patches of caramel on her cheeks,
chest and legs. When she looks at you, her green eyes are mesmerizing. Only when (and if) she
slows down would you notice that she has an unusual gait.
Tulip was born with her front right leg shorter than the left and with a partial paw. She doesn't know
this and plays as hard as her eleven siblings and has no problems keeping up. When running you
wouldn't notice it. Her leg is long enough that she uses it when moving slowly and in her foster home
has been encouraged to do everything that her siblings do. Her challenges appear to be stairs and
uneven surfaces. She climbs up stairs cautiously and is even more successful when she approaches
them at speed. Coming down is more difficult, as putting her weight on her shorter leg unbalances her.
It doesn't stop her from doing it. Because of her special needs we want to keep her close to our Sudbury MA locale. Please be holistic-minded as these pups cannot have flea/tick products due to their breed (and tender age). We advocate the cedar spray and bug-off garlic. Please be an at-home person and fill out the application on our web site before emailing. We might not be able to answer every email due to the sheer volume. Due to Covid we do not have drop-in or walk-in hours, but everything is done by appointment after we receive your application, pictures, and references. Please be ready to adopt as we are not able to hold pups while you're away. We require the entire household to meet the pup and we have to do it all in one visit in order to minimize the foot traffic at our shelter.
