In Memory of Martini

Hi Shirley,

I hope you're well! I wanted to share that this past Monday, we had to say farewell to our beloved Martini. After over nine years together (I brought her home in April 2017!), she came to the end. She was my companion through marriage, moves, 2 kids, and was just the best dog ever.

She had kidney failure, which advanced in the last couple of weeks. But, I was lucky to spend one final great week with her getting ice cream and cuddling. She passed peacefully in our home with help from Laps of Love, surrounded by family. At the very moment when she passed, I heard our wind chimes suddenly ring.

We already miss her terribly, and I find myself reflecting on those early days. I still remember her arrival at Save A Dog after being rescued in Lynn, her cowering, and then immediately crawling into her lap and making herself mine. I'm so thankful that Save a Dog brought her into my life.

Shirley's note: I will never forget this sweet little Chi mix, abandoned outside of a liquor store in a local town, hence the name Martini.
