Pippin

Apply To Adopt

Pippin is an adorable 3-4 year old Chi mix. He is a local surrender who was adopted by a single senior. He had some itchiness and was given conventional pharmaceuticals which led to anxiety and eventually his return. He's a wonderful little dog who deserves a great forever home. He's pretty calm in his foster home and likes living with other small dogs, although it is not a requirement. More importantly, a holistic-minded adopter who will continue a healthy fresh food diet and supplements. He's really an adorable little dog who just needs the right home. He is from a stay-at-home situation and would do best with an at-home adopter. Please apply at https://www.saveadog.org/applytoadopt.asp, and the adoption team will get right back to you.

Hansel and Gretal have always known a home until recently when their owner passed away. They belonged to a long-time supporter of the shelter we partner with in Louisiana, LAMA. Their owner, a woman, loved and cared for them very well. They lived inside with her and lived a wonderful life. Imagine the shock they must be feeling! These dogs were here true companions and now they're in a shelter. We're placing them separately as they compete for attention and each needs to have a home ASAP. They are supposedly seven years old, but act much younger. Please apply at https://www.saveadog.org/applytoadopt.asp, and the adoption team will get right back to you.

Grace, DOB: 10/18/25 Female Golden Retriever
Grace

Apply To Adopt

Update: Grace was recently adopted, but quickly returned as she guards toys and other objects of value to her. She will need a very experienced adopter who can work with her under the supervision of a trainer. That said, she spent the weekend with one of our experienced volunteers and there were no issues. In the right home she will flourish. She loves to chase a ball and plays well with other dogs. Julien is her best bud. Grace is a 10 month old white Golden Retriever, often called an English Golden Retriever. She was relinquished by her owner who did not disclose her behaviors.. We're looking for a local, holistic-practicing adopter due to the breed being susceptible to cancer. A fresh food diet, avoiding certain vaccines and toxic flea/tick preventives would be best to ensure a long and healthy life for her and we're happy to advise on that for the life of the dog. Please apply at https://www.saveadog.org/applytoadopt.asp, and the adoption team will get right back to you.

Available On: 8/5/26

Apply To Adopt

I’m Julien, a 1.5-year-old Rat Terrier mix, but I'm bigger so possibly mixed with Manchester Terrier. I weigh about 23 pounds. I love to play fetch! I was rescued in Louisiana, and the shelter down there says I’m friendly and funny and curious about everything! I’m smart and like to learn new things, and I love being wherever the action is. I would do best in a home where I can play. I'm not one to sit home in a crate with a dog walker. I would love doggy daycare, though. Please apply at https://www.saveadog.org/applytoadopt.asp, and the adoption team will get right back to you. Available NOW!

Available On: 8/17/26

Apply To Adopt

Mary is a sweet female Beagle who was picked up with Laura and Nelly, two other Beagles. All are in the 20-pound range and have just become available. These three beautiful Beagle girls were wandering around in rural countryside. They wandered upon the wrong person’s house and he said he was going to shoot them if they kept coming around. Obviously, our sister rescue, LAMA, couldn’t let that happen so the volunteers went to go pick them up. These beautiful Beagle girls are ready for some Air Conditioning and a life where they can take it easy, sniff around the house and yard, practice leash skills, and finally be a part of a family. They would each do best with another dog to show them the ropes, but it is not a requirement. Please apply at https://www.saveadog.org/applytoadopt.asp, and the adoption team will get right back to you.
