Hi!
We adopted Luke in 2003 and I was shocked to see his before picture. He was very healthy when we
adopted him. I notice in the profile that it was recommended he be the “only” dog. He and Grace,
our adopted greyhound are wonderful together. Luke is a bit jealous, but he has really brought a
great deal of spring to the legs of Grace. They chase squirrels together and really love each other.
Luke definitely likes to be #1, but he has even become friends with our two cats. Initially he was
too aggressive with them, but now the cats rub against him like they do to us humans. They even let
him chase them a bit, now that they figured out he only wants to play. Luke loves his chew toys and
nestling under the blankets. He is a LOVE and we are so happy with him. Two families passed on him
before us and we worried that they may have been wise…but with patience, he has become the most
wonderful pet. He has learned not to bite (he was still a puppy when we got him and he liked to
bite and chew) and only jumps up when he is very excited. He loves to go for a car ride to school
with the kids in the morning and he knows when I am going to work so he just cuddles with Grace
(he knows not to ask to ride at this time).
Thank you for the work that you all do.
The story about Sally the waiting dog was so moving.
Thank you again.
